Is Implant ProCare safe for all types of dental implants?
Implant ProCare is formulated with a neutral pH (6.8–7.0) and no harsh or corrosive agents for daily use by implant patients. If you have questions about your specific implant system or restoration materials, check with your dentist before starting any new oral care product.
How is this different from a regular mouthwash?
Most mouthwashes are designed to be swished and spit. Implant ProCare is a 2x concentrate built for irrigation — you dilute it 1:1 with water and run it through a water flosser so it reaches the space around the implant abutment that brushing and rinsing alone can miss.
Do I need a water flosser to use it?
A water flosser gives the most targeted delivery, but if you don't have one, you can swish the 1:1 diluted solution for 30 seconds, or use a curved-tip irrigating syringe.
How long does one bottle last?
Each 16 oz bottle is a 2x concentrate, so it makes a full 32 oz of ready-to-use solution once diluted 1:1 with water.
What does it taste like, and is it alcohol-free?
Yes, it's alcohol-free and formulated to be gentle for daily use — no burning and no dry mouth.
Will it stain my teeth or restorations?
No. It's formulated to be non-staining, unlike some prescription rinses (such as chlorhexidine) that are known to cause staining with regular use.
What's the active ingredient?
The active is cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) 0.10%, an antiplaque/antigingivitis ingredient, along with zinc citrate, xylitol, and hypromellose (HPMC).
What if I accidentally swallow some?
Implant ProCare is meant to be spit out, not swallowed, same as any oral rinse. If you have concerns after swallowing a significant amount, contact your doctor or a poison control center.
How soon after getting my implant can I start using it?
This depends on your individual healing and your dentist's post-surgical instructions. Always follow your dentist's guidance on when to introduce any new oral care product after implant placement.
Does this replace brushing, flossing, or my dental checkups?
No. Implant ProCare is a daily oral hygiene product, not a substitute for professional care. Keep up with your regular brushing, flossing, dental visits, and your dentist's home-care recommendations.
How is peri-implant care different from caring for natural teeth?
Implants don't have a periodontal ligament the way natural teeth do, and the soft tissue around an implant can be more sensitive to plaque buildup. That's why many dentists recommend a daily routine built specifically around implants. Read more in our Learn article on the topic.
Is Implant ProCare a prescription product?
No, it's an over-the-counter product intended for daily home use. It isn't a substitute for any prescription rinse or treatment your dentist has recommended — check with your dentist if you're unsure whether to use it alongside something you've been prescribed.
